Caring Support Specialist

We are seeking a Caring Support Specialist to join our team at Uniting, where you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness or at risk.
About the RoleAs a Caring Support Specialist, you will work across our Homeless and Community Services (HCS) focusing on our Men's, Women's and Youth programs. Your primary responsibility will be to provide high-quality care and support to individuals facing homelessness or at risk, helping them break the cycle of homelessness through personalized support, advocacy, and skill development.
Key Responsibilities- Advocate for client choice and independence by working closely with clients to understand their needs and develop tailored support plans.
- Monitor and review case plans with case managers to ensure seamless service delivery and coordination of communication.
- Assist with intake and assessment of clients as well as maintaining accurate records of clients' files.
- Maintain high standards of conduct and performance, adhering to Uniting's values, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure seamless service delivery and coordinate communication among stakeholders.
- Actively engage in team meetings, performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Certificate IV (or actively working towards) in Community Services, Mental Health, Youth Work, or a relevant field.
- First Aid Certification.
- A valid Driver's License.
- At least 2 years of experience working with Youth, Men's or Women's and Children's Mental Health.
- Proficiency in working with vulnerable populations.
- Knowledge of best practices for Specialist Homelessness funded Services.
- Computer skills for timely and accurate client information.
- A competitive salary of $46.68 per hour plus penalty rates, inactive sleep over, night differential and Super.
