Delirium Prevention Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Delirium Prevention Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and passionate individual to make a meaningful impact in the prevention, early identification, and management of delirium and cognitive decline.

  • About the Role:

  • This part-time, fixed-term position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with current registration under the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.

  • The successful candidate will have proven clinical experience in the assessment and management of cognitive impairment and delirium.

  • Deep understanding of the Delirium Clinical Care Standard and NSQHS guidelines is essential.

  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills are required.

  • Proficient in relevant IT systems, including Epic, Excel, MS Teams, and SharePoint.

  • A commitment to collaboration, kindness, and excellence is expected.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced clinical support to patients with cognitive impairment and delirium.

  • Lead education and best-practice implementation across both campuses.

  • Develop individual care plans and assist in guideline adherence across the service.

  • Monitor antipsychotic use and promote non-pharmacological strategies.

  • Support data collection, research, and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure continuity of care.
