Transport Manager Job

This is an exciting opportunity to lead daily operations, ensuring safety and compliance, managing site risks, and supporting your team and drivers. You will be responsible for controlling costs and meeting key financial targets.

As a Transport Manager, you will direct transport operations to achieve cost, productivity, accuracy, or timeliness objectives. You will provide transportation and service rates and ensure supply for contracts for transportation, distribution, or logistics services.

  • Direct and coordinate the movement of goods and materials by establishing schedules and routes.
  • Plan and manage logistics operations to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Oversee job allocations and ensure sufficient contractor resources match distribution needs.
  • Liaise with clients on issues, providing advice and offering solutions in a timely professional manner.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage transportation and logistics operations to meet customer requirements.
  2. Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  3. Lead and motivate teams to achieve high levels of performance and productivity.
  4. Monitor and analyze financial records to identify areas for improvement.
  5. Recommend optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment, or frequency.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Contract Manager Experience.
  • Excellent business acumen with the ability to solve operational issues.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Project management/event management experience.
  • Contract management experience.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong orientation to workplace health and safety.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a small dynamic company.
