Aboriginal Youth Mental Health Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Aboriginal Mental Health Clinician to join our team. As an expert in mental health interventions, you will play a pivotal role in improving outcomes for youth.
The Blacktown Early Access Team is committed to delivering high-quality, integrated care to young people with moderate to complex mental illnesses. In this position, you will:
- Provide treatment for various diagnoses, including psychotic, mood, and anxiety disorders, as well as complex trauma.
- Offer evidence-based interventions to enhance mental health outcomes.
- Coordinate recovery for Aboriginal individuals with mental health and substance abuse issues, prioritizing integrated, person-centered care.
- Treatment and support for young people with mental illness.
- Development and implementation of individualized care plans.
- Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
- Maintenance of accurate records and reports.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or relevant field.
- Full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse, Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, or eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (social worker) or eligible for membership with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (counsellor).
- Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal young people with mental illness, concept of social and emotional wellbeing, including an understanding of Aboriginal intergenerational trauma.
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience in working with young people with Alcohol & Other drug difficulties, especially Aboriginal families and communities.
