Forensic Mental Health Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled Forensic Mental Health Specialist to join our team, providing mental health services to youth in relation to harmful sexual behavior. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive forensic mental health services in a voluntary treatment program that works with youth in metropolitan, rural, and remote regions of SA (via telehealth when required).
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering high-quality forensic mental health services to youth with complex needs.
- Providing services at the Youth Court and Kurlana Tapa Youth Justice Centre.
- Addressing inconsistencies between clinical practice and policy.
- Being responsible and accountable for own professional practice standards and for activities delegated to others.
Required Skills and Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess:
- Registration as a nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and a current practicing certificate.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct mental health assessments and therapeutic interventions of a complex nature with children, adolescents with eating disorders and/or emotional and behavioral difficulties.
- Demonstrated ability to relate to people from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to work with individuals and families for positive mental health outcomes.
