Remotely Deliver Culturally Safe Healthcare in NT Communities

The Northern Territory Remote Locum Program is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led initiative strengthening healthcare services in remote communities.

We seek experienced General Practitioners to provide treatment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in NT communities. This locum-based role offers short-term placements where you will work on-site in remote clinics, delivering culturally safe care in collaboration with Aboriginal Health Practitioners, General Practitioners, nurses, and support staff.

  • Locum placements ranging from 3 to 12 weeks, based in remote NT communities, with travel and accommodation covered.
  • Cultural orientation and 24/7 support for a smooth transition into remote healthcare.
  • Free eLearning opportunities with the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM).

Key Requirements:

  • A fellowship with either Royal Australian College of General Practitioners or Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine.
  • Minimum 250 hours of relevant clinical experience working as a general practitioner within the past 12 months.
  • Completion of current and previous triennium requirements and active participation in continuing education recognised by RACGP QA & CPD or ACRRM PDP.
  • Evidence of current professional indemnity insurance as a General Practitioner (Level 1)
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
