Remote Healthcare Opportunities

The NT Remote Locum Program focuses on enhancing healthcare services in remote communities across the Northern Territory.

We are seeking experienced General Practitioners to provide treatment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in remote NT communities. This locum-based role offers short-term placements where you will work on-site in remote clinics, delivering culturally safe, high-quality care in collaboration with Aboriginal Health Practitioners, General Practitioners, nurses, and support staff.

  • Fully paid locum placements ranging from 3 to 12 weeks, based in remote NT communities, with travel and accommodation covered.
  • Cultural orientation and 24/7 support to facilitate your transition into remote healthcare.
  • Free access to CPD-accredited eLearning through the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine.
  • A unique opportunity to immerse yourself in Aboriginal culture and explore some of Australia's most breathtaking remote landscapes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hold a fellowship with either the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners or the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine.
  • Minimum 250 hours of relevant full-time clinical experience working as a general practitioner within the past 12 months.
  • Evidence of completion of current and previous triennium requirements and active participation in recognised continuing education programs.
  • Evidence of current professional indemnity insurance as a General Practitioner (Level 1).
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
