Overview

The NT Remote Locum Program (NTRLP) is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander–led workforce program dedicated to strengthening healthcare services in remote communities across the Northern Territory. We are seeking experienced Dental Therapists / Oral Health Therapists to provide treatment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in remote NT communities. This locum-based role offers short-term placements where you will work on-site in remote clinics, delivering culturally safe, high-quality care in collaboration with Aboriginal Health Practitioners, General Practitioners, nurses, and support staff.

Responsibilities
  • Provide dental therapy / oral health therapy services to patients in remote NT communities as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Deliver culturally safe, high-quality care in collaboration with Aboriginal Health Practitioners, General Practitioners, nurses, and support staff.
  • Participate in on-site care delivery during short-term locum placements (3 to 12 weeks, depending on the assignment).

What You'll Need
  • Current Oral Health Scheduled Substance Treatment Protocol (SSTP) certificate in the past 2 years.
  • Current NT Radiation License or application for NT Radiation License.
  • Minimum of two years full-time post-graduate clinical experience as a dental therapist.
  • Minimum of 250 hours of relevant full-time clinical experience as a dental therapist within the past 12 months.
  • Current BLS / CPR Certificate.
