At Centre Point Cafe, we are on a mission to deliver an exceptional dining experience that tells a story with every cup and dish.

We are currently looking for an experienced Executive Chef to join our team in Hornsby. This is a full-time position that requires approximately 38 hours of work per week.

About the Role

The primary responsibility of our Executive Chef revolves around their designated cooking station, coordinating activities with other kitchen staff to ensure consistent, reliable, and high-quality food delivery to our loyal customers.

  • Taking control of the breakfast service and ensuring guests receive a truly delicious and memorable breakfast.
  • Cooking and managing breakfast service and assisting with lunch service.
  • Setting up and cleaning down the kitchen.
  • Maintaining the kitchen's cleanliness and hygiene at all times.
  • Ensuring all stocks are kept under optimum conditions.
  • Preparing mise-en-place fresh and on time.
  • Operating the department within relevant legislation and maintaining up-to-date records.
  • Communicating anticipated issues promptly to the head chef.
  • Treating staff fairly and with courtesy.
  • Monitoring guest satisfaction, quality, operating, and food costs on an ongoing basis.

Qualification and Experience Requirements

  • AQF associate degree or Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Hospitality Management or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced cafe or restaurant environment.
  • Creativity and passion for food, with a keen eye for detail and presentation.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.

A salary between $74,000 - $76,000 will be offered to the successful applicant.
