Job Overview

We are seeking an accomplished Professional with expertise in coastal engineering to lead technical delivery of large-scale maritime projects.

  • This role involves designing and planning activities for multi-discipline maritime facilities across various industries including defence, local government, state government, ports, and sustainability (hydrogen terminals).

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Leading the technical delivery of large maritime projects from concept through construction phase support.
  • Collaborating with other disciplines across teams.
  • Providing leadership in project management and design management where applicable.
  • Contributing to business development activities, including proposal preparation and client positioning.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Significant experience in the design, evaluation, and reporting on ports, harbours, coastal works, and marine structures (wharves, jetties, port developments, marinas, seawalls, pontoons, dredging).
  • Significant experience with coastal modelling software (DELFT-3D, SWAN, MIKE).
  • Significant experience with local governments, port clients, and/or the Defence sector.
  • Familiarity with Australian design codes and guidelines.
  • Ability to project manage and/or design manage large maritime projects or teams within larger multidisciplinary projects.
  • Ability to engage with clients, pursue opportunities, and leverage connections to win work.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (or ability to obtain chartership within agreed timeframe).
  • Tertiary degree qualifications in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Eligibility for Australian Government security clearance.
