Coastal Infrastructure Expertise

BMT Defence Services Ltd is a leading consultancy in the maritime sector.

We are seeking experienced engineers to provide technical leadership for our growing program of work.

This role is open to applicants across our east coast offices, particularly Sydney, Tasmania or Melbourne.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design of coastal infrastructure including jetties, marinas, wharves, boat ramps, breakwaters, seawalls and other coastal protection infrastructure.
  • Act as a Project Manager for small to large scale projects and lead the engagement with clients.
  • Contribute to coastal and offshore projects working with coastal engineers, mechanical engineers, oceanographers, environmental scientists and GIS specialists.
  • Be a technical leader in the maritime structures area, conducting internal reviews and contributing to workflows.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to less experienced team members.
  • Write proposals and support business development and customer relationship management.
About You
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant field.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience post-graduation.
  • Experience in the design of coastal and maritime structures.
  • Experience working within the engineering/consulting sector including experience with proposals and managing clients.
  • Relevant registration with recognised body including an RPEV/RPEQ or ability to obtain one.
  • Unrestricted permanent work rights in Australia.
  • A passion for the coast and saltwater.
