Fire Engineering Lead Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and commercially-minded Fire Engineering professional to drive project success, expand client relationships, and identify new business opportunities across a diverse portfolio of building projects.

This role combines technical excellence with strategic business development and client engagement. As a senior member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring high-quality outcomes and strong stakeholder satisfaction.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in a design consultancy environment, with a strong track record of client engagement and project leadership. They will also possess Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or equivalent.

The ideal candidate will be able to manage multiple projects at varying stages of delivery and have a proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for building client relationships and growing business pipelines.

The following are key responsibilities for this position:

  • Lead client-facing project delivery, ensuring high-quality outcomes and strong stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Drive business development initiatives, identifying and pursuing new project opportunities and nurturing long-term client partnerships.
  • Manage internal design teams and oversee engineering assessments across complex, multi-client projects.
  • Represent the company in industry forums, client presentations, and strategic meetings to enhance market presence.
  • Deliver technically sound and innovative Fire designs, reports, and specifications across sectors including health, defence, high-rise, industrial, and education.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

The following are key requirements for this position:

  • Proven experience in a design consultancy environment, with a strong track record of client engagement and project leadership.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or equivalent.
  • Accreditation in NSW (Certifier - Fire Safety) - formerly C10 Category.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at varying stages of delivery.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for building client relationships and growing business pipelines.
  • High level of technical expertise in fire safety design, analysis, and risk assessment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • A collaborative, can-do attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
