About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic and commercially mindedFire Engineering Leadto join our Sydney Buildings team. This is a full-time leadership role that blends technical excellence with strategic business development and client engagement.
As a senior member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will play a pivotal role indriving project success, expanding client relationships, and identifying new business opportunitiesacross a diverse portfolio of building projects. Your ability to lead from the front—both technically and commercially—will be key to your success.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead client-facing project delivery, ensuring high-quality outcomes and strong stakeholder satisfaction.
- Drive business development initiatives, identifying and pursuing new project opportunities and nurturing long-term client partnerships.
- Manage internal design teams and oversee engineering assessments across complex, multi-client projects.
- Represent Stantec in industry forums, client presentations, and strategic meetings to enhance our market presence.
- Deliver technically sound and innovative Fire designs, reports, and specifications across sectors including health, defence, high-rise, industrial, and education.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in a design consultancy environment, with a strong track record ofclient engagement and project leadership.
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or equivalent
- Accreditation in NSW (Certifier - Fire Safety) - formerly C10 Category
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at varying stages of delivery.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion forbuilding client relationships and growing business pipelines.
- High level of technical expertise in fire safety design, analysis, and risk assessment
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- A collaborative, can-do attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
