This is a critical position within our Child Protection Counselling Service, delivering specialist therapeutic and case management services to children, young people, and their caregivers who have experienced physical abuse, emotional abuse, domestic violence, or neglect.
Main ResponsibilitiesThe successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Providing expert therapeutic and case management services to children, young people, and their caregivers;
- Working effectively in an interagency environment using strong advocacy, negotiation, and problem-solving skills to build partnerships with key stakeholders and plan, deliver, and coordinate patient care;
- Demonstrating extensive understanding of the dynamics of complex trauma and effects of physical abuse, emotional abuse, neglect, and domestic violence and best practice models for working with children, young people, and adults who have experienced abuse and/or trauma;
- Participating in the 24hr On Call Service, holding a current unrestricted NSW Driver's License, and being willing to provide services at different locations within NSLHD;
To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following criteria:
- Hold relevant tertiary qualifications and experience as per clinical discipline;
- Be registered with AHPRA or hold eligibility for membership of AASW;
- Demonstrate extensive understanding of complex trauma and best practice models for working with children, young people, and adults who have experienced abuse and/or trauma;
- Demonstrate ability to work effectively in an interagency environment using strong advocacy, negotiation, and problem-solving skills;
