We are seeking a specialist clinician to provide therapeutic and case management services to individuals who have been sexually assaulted or exhibit problematic harmful sexual behaviours.

About the Role

This is a temporary part-time position that will work four days a week, open to applicants with varying skills levels. The successful candidate will work in partnership with Aboriginal communities, organisations and relevant stakeholders to develop integrated prevention and response strategies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing specialist therapeutic and case management services to adults, young people and children who have been sexually assaulted or exhibit problematic harmful sexual behaviours.
  • Working with Aboriginal communities to develop integrated prevention and response strategies.
  • Collaborating with other professionals to implement the Aboriginal Action Plan linked to the Safe Wayz Pathway for children under 10 with Problematic and Harmful Sexualised Behaviours.
Requirements

This is an Identified Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander Position. Applicants must be of Aboriginal descent through parentage, identify as an Aboriginal person and be accepted in the community as such.

Accepted qualifications include: Social Work Qualification in Social Work which provides eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). A qualification in Psychology (e.g. Bachelors or Masters degree) is also acceptable but may require additional training and/or support in areas specific to working with First Nations children and families.
