About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Community Engagement Specialist to join our team at Settlement Services International (SSI). As a key member of our Advocacy and Research team, you will play a critical role in driving impactful engagement across our network of member organisations.

This is a unique opportunity to work with a leading purpose-driven, community-based organisation that values diversity and promotes social and economic participation. You will have the chance to work closely with our Group Head of Advocacy, Research and Communications and collaborate with various teams, including Stakeholder Relations, Government Relations, Research & Policy, and Program/Service Delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective relationship management strategies to enhance the profile and reputation of SSI
  • Build trusted relationships with stakeholders to position SSI for the future
  • Work with our Government Relations team and Policy team to develop joint government relations and advocacy opportunities
  • Engage in events and networking opportunities to raise awareness of SSI's goals and objectives
  • Support communications with SSI's members, including project updates and membership queries
  • Implement the member strategy, including coordination of professional development initiatives
  • Develop and deliver member-focused activities, such as education workshops, webinars, and events
  • Work with our Internal Communications Specialist to raise the profile of SSI's members
  • Manage member relations meetings and coordinate member meetings to ensure effective governance
Requirements
  • A background in marketing communication and content development
  • Ability to identify emerging issues and opportunities, with a high level of initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to set priorities and manage time effectively
  • Good problem-solving skills, with a strong customer service orientation
  • Team player with a willingness to work autonomously
