About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Community Engagement Specialist to join our team at Settlement Services International (SSI Group). This role will play a critical part in driving impactful engagement across our network of member organisations, enhancing and elevating their roles within SSI.

The successful candidate will be responsible for building trusted relationships with stakeholders, positioning SSI for the future, and working closely with our Government Relations team and Policy team to develop joint government relations and advocacy opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide relationship management to SSI Members and agreed community sector stakeholders
  • Build trusted relationships with stakeholders to position SSI for the future
  • Work with SSI's Government Relations team and the Policy team to develop joint government relations and advocacy opportunities
  • Engage in events and networking opportunities to raise awareness of SSI's goals and objectives
  • Capacity Building, Public Relations & Event support
  • Support communications with SSI's members, including project updates, membership queries, and networking sessions
  • Implement the member strategy, including coordination of professional development initiatives
  • Develop, plan, and deliver member-focused activities, including education workshops, webinars, events, conferences, and social functions
  • Work with SSI's Internal Communications Specialist to raise the profile of SSI's members
  • Manage Member relations meetings and coordinate and manage member meetings
  • Assist with administration, including reporting and distribution lists

Requirements:

  • A background in marketing communication and content development
  • Ability to identify emerging issues, opportunities, and show initiative
  • High-level interpersonal skills
  • Ability to set priorities, plan work programs, meet deadlines, and manage time effectively
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Effective organisational and planning skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Team player with a willingness to work autonomously
