About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Community Engagement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our advocacy and outreach team, you will be responsible for driving impactful engagement across our network of member organisations.

This role requires a high level of interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders and position our organisation for the future. You will work closely with our Government Relations team and Policy team to develop joint government relations and advocacy opportunities between our organisation and its members.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing relationship management to our members and agreed community sector stakeholders
  • Building trusted relationships with stakeholders to position our organisation for the future
  • Working with our Government Relations team and Policy team to develop joint government relations and advocacy opportunities
  • Engaging in events and networking opportunities to raise awareness of our organisation's goals and objectives
  • Capacity building, public relations, and event support
  • Supporting communications with our members, including project updates, membership queries, and networking sessions
  • Implementing our member strategy, including coordination of professional development initiatives
  • Developing, planning, and delivering member-focused activities, including education workshops, webinars, events, conferences, and social functions
  • Working with our Internal Communications Specialist to raise the profile of our members, their purpose, origin, and their role in our organisation
  • Managing member relations meetings and coordinating and managing member meetings to ensure appropriate governance
