Role Summary: The Lead Specialist in Commercial Strategies for Climate Solutions is tasked with enhancing customer interactions and driving revenue expansion within S&P Global's Energy Transition and Climate Solutions sectors. This role necessitates effective collaboration with the Commercial team, Channel Partners, Marketing, Client Services, Content, and Product teams.
Location: Melbourne / Perth, Australia
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster growth in Annual Contract Value (ACV) for Climate Solutions and Energy Transition services.
- Ensure exceptional customer experiences for clients in the Energy Transition and Climate Solutions domains.
- Develop a robust pipeline of opportunities for market data and insights related to Energy Transitions across various client segments.
- Establish and nurture relationships with key decision-makers and senior stakeholders to maximize the value derived from our services.
- Conduct client meetings and deliver presentations that effectively communicate the value of our offerings, positioning us favorably against competitors.
- Collaborate with Sales Teams and account managers, as well as Analysts and Pricing Editors, to ensure coordinated and impactful presentations.
- Gather and curate client feedback to inform product development and marketing strategies.
- Engage directly with clients and represent the company at hosted events.
Understanding Client Needs:
- Comprehend the complexities of client relationships and their information requirements.
- Grasp the structure and strategic objectives of the sales organization and its channels.
- Participate in the planning and execution of account management schedules and action plans to meet and exceed sales goals.
- Utilize market insights to guide Product Development and Marketing strategies, ensuring optimal solutions for clients.
Sales Growth and New Business Development:
- Drive growth in Energy Transitions by identifying new clients and collaborating with existing ones.
- Coordinate with other commodity specialists to promote Energy Transition and Climate Solutions across various markets.
Market Engagement and Relationship Building:
- Strengthen relationships with customers and Channel Partners.
- Travel to client locations for relationship-building and attend relevant conferences and events to promote our offerings.
- Support collaborative initiatives across S&P Global in the Energy Transition and ESG sectors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Strong passion for energy, commodities, and the transition to sustainable practices.
- Exceptional presentation skills with a proven ability to engage C-Level stakeholders.
- Robust solution-selling background with experience in maximizing customer value through strategic account planning.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build relationships with clients and internal teams.
- Willingness to travel 20-30% within the designated territory.
- Capability to independently acquire knowledge of industry trends and competitive landscapes.
