About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Climate Risk Consultant to join our team in Perth. As a key member of our Climate Change & Sustainability service, you will play a critical role in assisting clients to understand and optimize their organizational response to climate change, carbon management, and emission reduction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct climate-related risk and opportunity assessments and scenario analysis, with multiple climate risk scenarios across various time horizons.
  • Understand and manipulate large datasets, including climate model output, geospatial data, and emissions data.
  • Apply analytical and statistical approaches while conducting data analysis, modeling, and metric development.
  • Identify emissions boundaries for complex organizational structures, develop organizational emissions inventories for operational and financed emissions, and prepare basis of preparation.
  • Develop decarbonization and Net Zero strategies, implementation plans, transition plans, and Marginal Abatement Cost Curves.
  • Sound understanding of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol suite of standards, Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF) standards, and other common carbon accounting frameworks for corporates and financial institutions.
  • Knowledge of technical and regulatory developments in relation to climate change and carbon, including an awareness of global and domestic frameworks (IPCC, UNFCCC, etc.) and established and emerging standards (ASSB, ISSB, TCFD, SBTi, NZ alliances, etc.), highly desirable.
Requirements
  • Master's degree and/or PhD in Science, Environment, Sustainability, Carbon Management, Engineering, or Environmental Economics, desirable.
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to develop and strengthen client relationships.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and initiative to address challenges.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage own workflow and that of others.
  • Experience in industry, a consultancy, academic setting, or research institute with technical expertise in climate change and carbon.
