Payroll Officer

CoreStaff is seeking a skilled Payroll Officer to join our team in Darwin, Northern Territory. As a Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for performing all activities required to complete payroll and related processes, ensuring compliance with Awards, EBAs, relevant legislation, and organisational policies.
Key Responsibilities- Complete payroll checks related to timesheets, leave entitlements, overtime, Time in Lieu, and other related matters.
- Process, reconcile, and assist the team with all inter-company transactions as required.
- Calculate and report Payroll Tax as required by applicable regulations.
- Review and reconcile payroll-related General Ledger accounts, making necessary adjustments.
- Undertake monthly/quarterly payment summary reconciliation.
- Conduct superannuation payments in accordance with legal requirements.
- Generate monthly Employee Turnover reports to monitor workforce trends.
- Provide data for monthly management reporting.
- Prepare and submit reports for the Workplace Gender Equality Agency and Australian Bureau of Statistics.
- Execute end-of-financial-year (EOFY) payroll reconciliation procedures.
- Reconcile EOFY leave provisions and prepare associated work papers.
- Assist in auditing processes as required.
- Interpretation and understanding of applicable industrial agreements, legislations, regulations, and awards.
- Payroll data analytics and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in diverse industries preferred (e.g. Hospitality and Construction).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, WageEasy, Human Force, and Jobpac preferred.
