About the Role

Halcyon Knights is seeking a highly skilled Information Release Officer to join our team for an initial 3-month contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling Freedom of Information (FOI), National Redress Scheme (NRS), and information release requests in accordance with the FOI Act and associated legislation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process FOI and NRS requests, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Coordinate and assess requests, providing high-level recommendations and briefings.
  • Develop and maintain Departmental FOI policy, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to developing networks and maintaining ongoing liaison with stakeholders.
About You

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with staff, stakeholders, and customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member and achieve deadlines.
  • Ability to make sound judgments based on legislative and departmental guidelines.
  • Experience providing advice and assistance on FOI legislation and NRS.
  • Detailed knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act 1991, NRS, and associated legislation.
