We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Community Information Officer to join our team at the Department for Human Services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality information, referral, and support to women, including information on a broad range of services, facilities, and programs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide prompt and courteous responses to telephone, email, and face-to-face enquiries from clients and requests of support from volunteers.
- Assist women to access our programs and services as required, including taking bookings and recording details of clients' requests.
- Contribute to and maintain information resources in our shopfront and daily recording of client statistics onto records management systems.
- As required, maintain and review social media pertaining to our service and the Department for Human Services.
- Respectfully interact with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences in the community, as well as maintain positive working relationships with volunteers and staff.
- Provide guidance and support to volunteers to assist them in undertaking their duties in the shopfront and phone room.
- Understand and follow the principles and practices of the Information Sharing Guidelines for Promoting Safety and Wellbeing (ISG) and the DHS Appendix to the ISG to facilitate appropriate information sharing practice within the context of this department.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Knowledge and experience of the range of services available to assist SA women with diverse needs, expectations, and requirements of working in a government environment and working with complex issues and challenging behaviors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to providing high-quality service to clients.
