Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Health Officer to join our team on a temporary 12-month fixed term basis.

About the role:

  • The successful candidate will assist in investigating customer requests regarding environmental public health matters.
  • They will undertake inspections of businesses related to public health matters such as food/skin penetration premises.
  • Review Development Applications with consideration given to environment & public health issues.
  • Assess technical reports & documents, including acoustic reports and site contamination assessments.
  • Prepare standards, codes, information & fact sheets on public health & environmental health matters.
  • Develop community health & environmental educational materials & programs.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Health, Environmental Science or similar discipline.
  • Relevant knowledge of Environmental & Public Health matters.
  • A high level of attention to detail, ability to analyse problems & find solutions.
  • A current Class C Motor Vehicle License.
