About the Role

The Queensland Fire Department is seeking an experienced Executive Officer to provide high-level administrative support to the Regional Assistant Commissioner. This is a key role that requires strong leadership and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the work program and administration of the office, ensuring the effective dissemination of information and achievement of work priorities and deadlines.
  • Provide high-level administrative support to the Regional Assistant Commissioner, including preparing correspondence, reports, submissions, presentations, and speeches.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships and networks with internal and external clients and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development and management of the budget and human resources issues.
  • Provide secretariat support to meetings and committees, including preparing agendas, recording and circulating minutes, and following up on actions and outcomes.
  • Identify and research issues impacting on the region's responsibilities and initiate work priorities and timely action to support business operations.
  • Represent and promote the interests of the region at internal and external meetings and forums, and negotiate agreed outcomes as required.
  • Undertake projects on a diverse range of issues and provide advice and options to solve problems and issues impacting on regional business.
Requirements
  • Experience in providing administrative support in a senior executive environment.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships and networks with internal and external clients and stakeholders.
