Job Summary
Canonical seeks a skilled Technical Author to lead the development of product documentation. As part of our documentation practice team, you will work alongside experts to define documentation excellence and drive the development of documentation practice and theory across the company and in the open-source software community.

About the Position
This role involves creating, maintaining, and improving software documentation, collaborating with engineers, influencing product development, engaging with user communities, and encouraging community engagement in documentation. To be successful, you should have a strong background in technical writing or programming, experience in software development contexts, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a degree or equivalent qualification.

Responsibilities
- Create, maintain, and improve software documentation across products
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure documentation is accurate and helpful
- Influence product development based on user feedback and documentation best practices
- Engage with user communities to gather feedback and improve documentation quality
