Arabic News Supervising and Planning Producer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervising and Planning Producer to join our team at SBS Arabic TV News. As a key member of our news department, you will be responsible for supervising the content, consistency, quality, legal compliance, workflows, and timely technical delivery of our Arabic News bulletin.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise vision, scripts, GFX, appropriate supers, intros, and request changes where needed.
- Ensure the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and fairness in our news content.
- Work closely with the Executive Producer to develop and implement the news strategy and editorial plan.
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure timely and efficient delivery of news content.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including news sources, experts, and community leaders.
- Stay up-to-date with national and international news, and have a deep understanding of the Arabic-speaking community in Australia.
- Contribute to the development of innovative and engaging news content that meets the needs and interests of our audience.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English and broadcast-standard Arabic is essential.
- Demonstrated experience in professional journalism, with a strong understanding of news production, editing, and presentation.
- Proven ability to work under pressure, meeting strict deadlines and timelines.
- Experience supervising and subediting TV content, including vision, scripts, GFX, and supers.
- Strong short and long-term planning skills, with the ability to coordinate with the team and other departments.
- Ability to coach and mentor junior staff members.
- Understanding of the importance of Australia's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures in SBS Charter and a genuine interest in learning more.
- Experience in providing content across all news platforms, including video editing skills.
- Understanding of the diversity within the Arabic-speaking community in Australia.
- Demonstrated computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Word, email, and digital media editing/production software.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders, including news sources, experts, and community leaders.
