Arabic News Supervising and Planning Producer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervising and Planning Producer to join our team at SBS Arabic TV News. As a key member of our news team, you will be responsible for supervising the content, consistency, quality, legal compliance, workflows, and timely technical delivery of our Arabic News bulletin.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise vision, scripts, GFX, appropriate supers, intros, and request changes where needed.
- Ensure the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and fairness in our news content.
- Work closely with the Executive Producer to develop and implement the news strategy and editorial plan.
- Collaborate with the news team to ensure seamless production and delivery of the news bulletin.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including news sources, experts, and community leaders.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English and broadcast standard Arabic is essential.
- Demonstrated experience in professional journalism, with a strong understanding of news production and broadcast standards.
- Proven ability to work under pressure, meeting strict timelines and deadlines.
- Experience supervising and subediting TV content, including supervising vision, scripts, GFX, appropriate supers, intros.
- Understanding of national and international news, with the ability to contextualise everyday news.
- Understanding of Australia's legal framework and Media Law.
- Strong short and long-term planning skills and coordination within the team and with the rest of the organisation.
- Ability to coach the team, including voice delivery and writing to pictures.
- Understanding of the importance of Australia's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures in SBS Charter and a genuine interest in learning more.
- Experience in providing content across all news platforms, with a strong understanding of video editing and digital media production.
- Understanding of the diversity within the Arabic-speaking community in Australia.
- Demonstrated computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Word, email, and digital media editing/production software.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders, including news sources, experts, and community leaders.
