About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Arabic News Supervising and Planning Content Producer to join our team at SBS. As a key member of our News and Current Affairs department, you will be responsible for supervising and planning the content of our Arabic TV News bulletin, ensuring it meets the highest standards of quality, consistency, and legal compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and plan the content of the Arabic TV News bulletin, including vision, scripts, GFX, and supers.
  • Ensure the bulletin meets the highest standards of quality, consistency, and legal compliance.
  • Work closely with the Executive Producer to develop and implement content strategies.
  • Collaborate with the production team to ensure timely delivery of the bulletin.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including Arabic-speaking communities in Australia.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English and broadcast standard Arabic.
  • Demonstrated experience in professional journalism, including supervising and subediting TV content.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, meeting strict timelines.
  • Strong short and long-term planning skills and coordination within the team and with the rest of the organisation.
  • Ability to coach the team in areas such as voice delivery and writing to pictures.
  • Understanding of the importance of Australia's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures in SBS Charter and the ability to deliver relevant and unique First Nations content to Arabic-speaking audiences.
  • Experience in providing content across all news platforms and understanding of the craft of video editing.
  • Understanding of the diversity within the Arabic-speaking community in Australia.
  • Demonstrated computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Word, email, and digital media editing/production software.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders internally and externally.
