Operational Risk Manager for Digital Transformation

The Head of Operational Risk – Modernisation will play a crucial part in ensuring the effective management of operational risk within QBE's Australia Pacific Division's digital transformation project. This role will be responsible for leading first-line risk management and control testing, collaborating with operational risk peers and partners, and providing commercially and technically astute recommendations to balance risk with opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead first-line risk management and control testing
- Collaborate closely with operational risk peers and partners in first, second, and third-line risk to ensure alignment
- Provide commercially and technically astute, pragmatic recommendations that balance risk with opportunity
About You

- Extensive experience in large-scale transformations, showcasing strategic acumen and risk management, with an emphasis on organisational transformational initiatives over business as usual operations
- Proven expertise in cloud environments, encompassing oversight, regulatory approvals, control assurance, and testing outcomes
- Deep knowledge of risk management within complex, regulated settings
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and large-scale enterprise transformations, particularly in relation to regulatory compliance
- A track record of success in fast-paced environments, consistently meeting tight deadlines while upholding the highest standards, utilising a hands-on leadership style to drive outcomes within a matrix structure
- The capability to navigate ambiguity and change, adeptly reprioritising initiatives as necessary
- Exceptional stakeholder and relationship management skills, with a proven ability to cultivate extensive networks that drive thought leadership
