Rental Housing Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough customer assessments to determine housing needs and develop effective solutions.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to customers seeking rental assistance, education, and coaching.
  • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with local real estate agents, service providers, and government agencies to enhance service delivery.
  • Stay current on local rental market trends and available options to inform decision-making.
  • Promote inter-agency collaboration and service improvement initiatives through active participation and leadership.
  • Foster strong relationships within the broader housing and support systems for seamless referrals to supportive services.
  • Lead and mentor Housing Officers in providing high-quality Rent Connect services, ensuring a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to Workplace Health and Safety policies and practices.

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Provide visionary leadership, guidance, and support through coordinated activities such as workload management and planning.
  • Cultivate a team culture that fosters open communication, collaboration, continuous improvement, positivity, safety, learning, and capability building.
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory for this role.

Work Environment:

  • This position operates primarily in a Housing Service Centre and occasionally in the field, requiring meetings with customers in their homes.
  • Adaptability and awareness of personal safety are essential while maintaining a focus on delivering exceptional customer service and achieving outstanding results.
