Job Title: Team Leader, Parks

The City of Parramatta is seeking an experienced team leader to join our parks and open spaces department in a leadership position.

  1. About the Role:

    We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to lead maintenance teams in creating the best parks and open spaces in Australia.

  2. Main Responsibilities:
    • Cary out horticultural activities to ensure the city's parks are presented to the highest standards.
    • Makes decisions and implements work practices in line with best practices of the Horticulture / Arboriculture / Greenkeeping trade and industry.
    • Undertake park and landscaping embellishment works to uplift key parks in our area.
    • Mentor staff within the team and undertake on-the-job training for the team.
    • Day-to-day management of staff and their assigned tasks.
    • Adapt to changing priorities and undertake other tasks as directed, to assist other teams and operational areas, particularly in wet weather or other emergencies to meet community needs.
  3. About You:

    The successful applicant will have previous experience in leading teams, particularly in the maintenance of parks and open spaces.

  4. Qualifications:
    • Certificate III qualification in Horticulture, relevant to position / area of specialisation (arboriculture, horticulture, landscaping, nursery, and sports turf management).
    • Current NSW MR Driver's Licence
    • White Card
  5. What We Offer:
    • Permanent Full-Time opportunity
    • Hours: 6am-3pm Monday-Friday
    • Remuneration from $78,199 to $86,118 per annum
    • 12% Superannuation
    • Allowances in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2023
