Lead Horticultural Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Horticultural Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of maintenance staff, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.

This is a hands-on role that requires strong horticultural knowledge and expertise in all aspects of garden maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a Certificate III in Horticulture or Parks & Gardens and at least 3 years' experience in a similar role.

The Lead Horticultural Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Leading a team of maintenance staff and providing guidance and mentorship to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles.
  • Ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards, prioritizing workflows and managing time effectively.
  • Providing input into the development of horticultural programs and initiatives, ensuring they meet the needs of the site and align with company goals.
  • Undertaking hands-on work, including pruning and shaping of shrubs and hedges, plant and pest identification, and regular inspections of garden areas to assess their condition and identify improvements needed.

About You

To succeed as a Lead Horticultural Specialist, you will need to have:

  • A Certificate III in Horticulture or Parks & Gardens.
  • At least 3 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize workflows and manage your time.

You will also need to have a valid driver's license and White Card.
