About Us
At Save the Children Australia, we are committed to providing essential support services to families affected by domestic and family violence.
We are seeking an experienced Child Support Specialist to join our team on a part-time basis (0.7 FTE) until 6 October 2025, with potential for extension. In this role, you will work within a collaborative team to provide case management and safety planning support to women and children who are escaping or experiencing domestic violence.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate the provision of safe refuge-based accommodation to women and children escaping domestic and family violence
- Conduct thorough risk and needs assessments, within a trauma-informed, Safe and Together case management framework
- Work with families to source appropriate, safe and sustainable accommodation free from violence and/or connecting families with services to meet their needs

What We're Looking For
An experienced practitioner with high levels of initiative and flexibility alongside cultural sensitivity and knowledge. You should be able to respond calmly and effectively in crisis and complex situations, and work within a trauma-informed practice framework.
Bringing your best every day means having:
- A Bachelor/Diploma of Social Work, Psychology or relevant Human Services qualification, and/or significant experience in a similar service
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of domestic and family violence, including the impact on children
- Experience working with families from diverse cultural backgrounds
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Current drivers' licence
