Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our specialist clinical team, providing expert neurological rehabilitation and support to individuals with complex mental/physical health needs.

Main duties
  • Manage and prioritize a caseload of service users, assessing their occupational performance and skill deficits through comprehensive evaluations.
  • Develop tailored programmes of care, ensuring seamless handovers to rehabilitation support workers or therapy assistants.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments, regularly reviewing and communicating findings with the team to ensure patient safety.
  • Source and issue necessary equipment, providing adequate training for staff, service users, and families, and referring outside agencies as required.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate goal-directed group interventions to promote occupational engagement and independence.
  • Provide guidance on social and lifestyle needs, including referrals to other agencies and services, to optimize patient outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy from a recognized institution.
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Practice placement qualification or willingness to undertake within the first year.
  • A minimum of 18 months post-registration experience, including inpatient or community rehabilitation settings.
  • Proven experience working with service users who have neurological deficits or acquired brain injury.
  • Familiarity with specialist interventions used in neurological rehabilitation, such as cognitive rehabilitation.
Requirements
  • Ongoing UK professional registration is essential.
