Environmental Health Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health Specialist to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will work closely with our Manager Building and Development and other staff to provide a quality environmental health service.
The primary focus of this role is to provide technical expertise and advice on environmental health matters, including the assessment of applications and statutory certificates. This involves working effectively with internal stakeholders, as well as external clients, to deliver clear and accurate advice at the front counter, in pre-development application discussions and general correspondence.
About YouTo be considered for this role, you must have tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, such as Building Surveying or a related discipline. A minimum of one year's experience in a Local Government environment, preferably in development control and health, is also required.
You should possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts successfully. Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet and database software is essential, as is a Class C Driver's Licence and current registration as a Building Surveyor - Restricted (Class 1 & 10 Buildings) or equivalent.
