Health and Building Surveyor Role Overview

Job Description

As a Health and Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for providing technical health and building expertise and advice to the Manager Building and Development, other staff, and the public on health and building-related matters.

You will work with the Manager Building and Development and Building Surveyors to provide a quality environmental health and building service. Your role will involve providing technical health and building expertise and advice, meeting deadlines associated with assessment of applications and statutory certificates, and delivering excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical health and building expertise and advice to stakeholders
  • Meeting deadlines for assessment of applications and statutory certificates
  • Delivering excellent customer service through efficient delivery of clear and accurate advice
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications (or equivalent) in Building Surveying
  • Minimum one year's experience in a Local Government Development Control and Health environment (or equivalent)
  • Class C Driver's Licence
  • Current registration as a Building Surveyor - Restricted (All classes of Buildings)
  • General Construction Induction Card (White card)
