Health and Building Surveyor Role

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Health and Building Surveyor. The successful candidate will work with the Manager Building and Development and other surveyors to provide quality environmental health and building services, as well as offer technical advice and expertise.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert health and building guidance to the Manager Building and Development, other staff members, and the public on related matters.
  • Meet deadlines associated with assessments and statutory certificates.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service through accurate advice at the front counter, in pre-development discussions, and general correspondence.
  • Represent the council at meetings and engage with the public to guide development and achieve high-quality building outcomes.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Building Surveying or equivalent.
  • A minimum of one year's experience in a Local Government Development Control and Health environment or similar.
  • A valid Class C Drivers Licence.
  • Current registration as a Building Surveyor - Restricted (Class 1 & 10 Buildings) (A3) or current registration as a Building Surveyor - Restricted (All classes of Buildings) (A2).
  • A General Construction Induction Card (White card).

The role involves working within a diverse team of over 450 people, serving a population of 25,000 residents across 9,000 square kilometres.
