Environmental Health and Building Specialist

Job Overview:
We are seeking a Building Surveyor to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in providing quality environmental health and building services to the community.
Main Responsibilities- Provide expert technical advice on health and building related matters to staff and the public.
- Evaluate applications and statutory certificates to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Deliver exceptional customer service through clear and accurate guidance at the front counter, pre-development application discussions, and correspondence.
- Represent the organization at meetings and engage with members of the public to guide development within the region and achieve good quality building outcomes.
- Respond promptly to correspondence regarding environmental health and building issues.
- Coordinate programs and conduct inspections to ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
- Promote and demonstrate organizational values and behavioral requirements.
- Tertiary qualifications in Building Surveying or equivalent.
- Minimum one year's experience in Local Government Development Control and Health environment.
- Class C Driver's Licence.
- Current registration as a Building Surveyor - Restricted (All classes of Buildings) (A2).
- General Construction Induction Card (White card).
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively on technical advice and policy issues.
- Proven negotiation, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and database skills.
