Payroll Officer

We are seeking a recent university graduate to join our team as a Payroll Officer on a 12-month initial contract with potential for extension. As a key member of our payroll team, you will be responsible for maintaining and updating payroll databases, ensuring employees' records are up-to-date, and managing leave and termination calculations.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain and update payroll databases to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Ensure employees' records are up-to-date and accurate
- Manage leave and termination calculations, including preparation of termination payments
- Prepare and lodge end-of-month reports and remit payments to third-party vendors
- Timely lodgement and payment of superannuation, withholding tax, and payroll tax to relevant authorities
- Manage group payroll email inbox and respond to queries within 48 hours
- Setup timesheets for employees and assist with year-end reconciliations
- Partner with Payroll Controllers, HR Business Partners, and Business Units to ensure all pay-related matters are attended to promptly and accurately
- Recent university graduate in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related degree
- Advanced knowledge of Excel (VLookups and Pivot Tables) and Microsoft Office
- Up to 12 months of prior experience in accounts or payroll will be highly regarded but not required
- Excellent communication and time management skills, with the ability to work to deadlines
- Pro-active, flexible, and able to communicate and engage with stakeholders professionally
- Positive attitude with an open and collaborative approach
