Role Overview

As a Developmental Educator at Everyday Independence, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities to achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives. You will work collaboratively with participants, their families, and support teams to develop person-centered plans and provide support and guidance to help them overcome barriers and achieve their aspirations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial assessments using the LEAD evidence-based assessment tool to identify participant needs and goals.
  • Develop and implement person-centered plans in collaboration with participants, their families, and support teams.
  • Provide support and guidance to participants and their families to help them navigate the NDIS and access the services and support they need.
  • Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to provide wrap-around support to participants and their families.
  • Participate in peer group supervision and mentoring to develop your skills and expertise.
Requirements
  • Hold a Bachelor or Masters of Disability (or equivalent) and be eligible to be a member of the DEAI (Membership required upon commencement).
  • Be passionate about removing barriers and promoting inclusion using the social model of therapy.
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to build strong relationships with participants, their families, and support teams.
  • Be able to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children's Check.
