Job Title: Accounting Specialist

A dynamic and supportive accounting role in a fast-paced finance environment.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Assist with daily financial tasks and operational accounting activities, ensuring accurate records and efficient processes.
  • Support accounts payable procedures, vendor management, and billing processes for clients.
  • Participate in the creation of client billing packs, serving as key contact for billing enquiries and resolving related issues.
  • Maintain precise financial records, documentation, and transaction processing.
  • Post month-end journals, complete balance sheet reconciliations, and ensure accuracy of financial records.
  • Conduct intercompany reconciliations, resolve discrepancies, and assist with month-end reporting preparation and analysis.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
  • Prepare and submit Business Activity Statements (BAS) to relevant authorities.
  • Complete ABN-related forms and applications, ensuring compliance with Australian accounting standards and regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant tax and regulatory requirements.
  • Annual Processes:
  • Provide comprehensive support during year-end audit processes, preparing schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Liaise with external auditors, respond to queries, and assist with year-end adjustments and closing procedures.
  • Additional Duties:
  • Support ad-hoc finance projects, contribute to process improvement activities, and provide backup support for team members.
  • Assist with budget preparation, variance analysis, and other related tasks.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Minimum 3-4 years of post-qualification accounting experience.
  • Experience in Australian accounting practices and regulations preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards (AASB).
  • Proficiency in accounting software and systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
  • Knowledge of BAS preparation and ATO requirements.
  • Familiarity with audit processes and procedures.
