We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Area Leader Planned Maintenance to play a critical role in delivering high-quality planned maintenance services across our extensive portfolio of facilities.

Reporting to the Coordinator Facilities Maintenance Services, you will manage external contractors working through bundled and direct service contracts to ensure that all planned maintenance activities are delivered efficiently, safely, and in line with our strategic asset management objectives.

This leadership position is central to supporting key organisational priorities, including financial sustainability, long-term integrated planning, and enhanced organisational capability through strong contractor performance, robust compliance oversight, and transparent cost management.

You will be responsible for leading and coordinating the full lifecycle of planned maintenance programs delivered via external contractors, supervising and supporting the Planned Maintenance Officer, and ensuring all planned maintenance activities comply with relevant legislation, codes, and safety regulations.

To be successful in this role, you will require a relevant tertiary qualification in Facilities Management, Asset Management, or Building Services, or lesser formal qualification with extensive industry experience (10+ years) in a similar role.

You will need to demonstrate strong experience coordinating planned maintenance programs and managing contractors in compliance-driven environments, as well as in-depth knowledge of relevant Victorian building legislation, statutory and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and collaborate across teams, as well as strong organisational and decision-making skills with the ability to balance competing priorities and maintain service delivery.

This is a full-time permanent leadership position that will be required to work across multiple locations and travel within the municipality to undertake Council business, as required.
