Job Title: Data Governance Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Data Governance Manager. In this critical role, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining our AI and Data Governance frameworks.

You will play a vital part in driving commercial growth and deeper engagement with data-driven solutions, working closely with senior leaders to implement critical frameworks that allow for ambitious innovation while upholding the highest ethical standards and robust privacy protections.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement Governance: You'll be hands-on in implementing and maintaining our AI and Data Governance frameworks.
  • Champion Data Integrity: You will support the management of our key data assets, ensuring their quality and integrity are fit for purpose.
  • Drive Privacy Compliance: You will conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) for new projects, ensuring we meet our obligations under the Privacy Act and the APPs.
  • Manage Risk: You'll help identify and mitigate risks associated with data privacy and the responsible use of AI.
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in data privacy, data governance, or technology risk.
  • A strong, practical understanding of the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
  • Hands-on experience conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs).
  • An understanding of data management principles, including data quality and lifecycle management.
  • A solid grasp of AI concepts (like machine learning and generative AI) and their associated privacy challenges.
