Strategic Data Governance Leadership Opportunity

This is a unique chance to lead data governance initiatives within an organisation undergoing rapid transformation and growth.

As the Data Governance Strategist, you'll work across departments to define and deliver the organisation's data strategy, championing organisational understanding of data's role and value.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement data governance policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Monitor alignment to governance frameworks and legal compliance (e.g. Privacy Act).
  • Collaborate with Security and Architecture teams to ensure governance is embedded in data solutions.
  • Promote best practices in dashboard and visualisation management.
  • Support leaders in developing meaningful reports and control systems.
  • Improve stewardship and metadata management processes.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
  • Skilled in Power BI, with strong visual design capabilities
  • Exposure to Python, SQL, GIT, and XML
  • Hands-on experience with data governance tools (e.g. MS Purview or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of metadata management, lineage, and data quality
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as COBIT, ISO27001, GDPR, DMBOK, ISO 42001
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver commercial outcomes through data strategy
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, IT or related field
