Job Title: Data Governance Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Specialist to join our team and play a key role in shaping the future of data governance and strategy. As a Data Governance Specialist, you will be responsible for championing best practices in data governance, developing robust policies and procedures, and ensuring data is accessible, accurate, and aligned with compliance standards.

About the Role:

  • Lead the development and implementation of data governance policies and procedures across departments
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment of data governance frameworks and legal compliance
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote data quality and stewardship
  • Work closely with Security and Architecture teams to embed governance in data solutions
  • Improve metadata management processes and ensure large and complex data sets are usable, understandable, and well-governed
  • Provide guidance and support to leaders on developing meaningful reports and control systems

Requirements:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
  • Skilled in Power BI, with strong visual design capabilities
  • Exposure to Python, SQL, GIT, and XML
  • Hands-on experience with data governance tools (e.g. MS Purview or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of metadata management, lineage, and data quality
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as COBIT, ISO27001, GDPR, DMBOK, ISO 42001
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver commercial outcomes through data strategy
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, IT or related field
