About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and reliable Facilities Assistant to join our team at the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute. As a key member of our facilities team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, providing exceptional support to our researchers and staff, and contributing to the Institute's mission to find cures for cardiovascular disease.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including setup and teardown of events, meetings, and conferences.
  • Assist with the daily transit, removal, and replenishment of clinical bins and receptacles.
  • Support the Facilities Engineering Manager in ensuring the facilities are kept clean, safe, and secure.
  • Monitor, distribute, and restock non-hazardous consumables for laboratories, offices, and kitchens.
  • Organize and manage events, conferences, and meetings, including setup of audio-visual and IT equipment.
  • Maintain and update signage throughout the building.
  • Deliver goods to respective areas within the Institute.
  • Ensure efficient storage and a safe working environment in the building.
  • Assist the Operations team and Scientific services as needed.
Requirements
  • Previous customer service or relevant work experience.
  • Basic understanding of workplace safety regulations and procedures.
  • Willingness and desire to do a hands-on and repetitive role.
  • Ability to communicate and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proactive attitude and comfortable working autonomously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong customer service approach and skills.
