Wildlife Sanctuary Medical Officer

 

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is an award-winning tourism attraction that showcases conservation and native wildlife. We are seeking an experienced First Aider to join our team on a seasonal casual role.

Job Description:

As a First Aider at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, you will be responsible for administering first aid treatment to park guests and completing medical reports on all patients. You will also ensure guests receive exceptional professional service in a family-friendly safe environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first aid to injured or unwell guests
  • Complete injury reports on all patients
  • Maintain medical supplies and equipment
  • Work in various outdoor weather conditions

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 3 years' experience in a similar first aid environment
  • A current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain
  • Computer literacy in Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • An ability to exert calm authority in medical emergencies
  • Strong guest services focus
  • Ability to work as part of the team and individually
  • Maintain records confidentially
  • Effective written and verbal communications skills
  • Understanding and compliance with Workplace Health and Safety standards
  • High level of professional personal presentation

Essential Qualifications:

  • HLTAID009 - Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • HLTAID010 - Provide basic emergency life support
  • HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid

The role requires roster flexibility during the parks operating season with work hours required on weekends and public holidays.
