Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary (CWS) is located on the southern end of Gold Coast. We are the largest attraction within the National Trust of Australia (Queensland) portfolio and feature a vibrant and varied collection of Australian wildlife and non-native exotics located just one block back from beautiful Currumbin beach.
We currently have a unique opportunity for a passionate and experienced Wildlife Officer to join our team for an immediate start. This role will involve delivering an energetic, friendly, and professional customer experience for our guests in the Lost Valley aviary while ensuring the safety of the guests and animals.
- **Position details & duties**

Duties for this role includes, but not limited to; guest interactions, keeper talks as well as animal observations and enrichment activities. We are seeking professional applicants who will be energetic, enthusiastic and have a high level of general wildlife knowledge and professional customer service skills.
- This is a permanent part-time position working 2-5 days a week 10am-2pm.
- Availability for weekend and holiday work is desirable for this role.
- Pay rate and conditions under the Amusements, Events & Recreation Award 2010.
- Start date as soon as possible.

**Selection Criteria**:

- Can deliver a high level of friendly customer service to all guests.
- Certificate III in Captive Animal Management would be an advantage.
- Wildlife handling, husbandry skills and previous experience as a Wildlife Officer or similar position is desirable
- Has a high level of energy, communication skills and teamwork skills
- Appropriate fitness to walk long distances and stand for long periods
- Current First Aid qualifications would be an advantage.
- A genuine reliable, flexible, and positive attitude and a high standard of personal presentation is required.
- We are a 7 day a week operation. Full availability required over weekends and school holiday periods would be an advantage.
- Must be prepared to complete all necessary training and immunisations as may be required for this role.
