Workplace Injury Coordinator

This role involves coordinating and managing workers' compensation and non-work-related injury cases.

  • Main Responsibilities
  • - Coordinate and manage workers' compensation and non-work-related injury cases.
  • - Lead return-to-work (RTW) processes, liaising with employees, managers, medical providers, and WorkCover agents.
  • - Manage compensation payments, PIAWE, and payroll reconciliations.
  • - Maintain accurate case files, injury management plans, and documentation.
  • - Provide expert advice and support to leaders managing injured or ill employees.
  • - Ensure compliance with WIRC legislative requirements and organisational policies.
  • - Promote a strong safety-first culture across the organisation.
  • - Partner with OHV stakeholders and external providers.
  • - Support and drive wellbeing initiatives and HSW campaigns.
  • - Participate in incident investigations, quality and safety walks, and workplace risk assessments.
  • - Contribute to HSW committees and internal HSW networks.
  • - Report on injury trends, claims performance, and safety statistics.
Key Requirements
  • - Experience in injury management, RTW coordination, or workers' compensation case management.
  • - Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with employees and stakeholders at all levels.
  • - Strong understanding of relevant legislation (e.g. WIRC Act).
  • - Proficient in data analysis and reporting to measure the success of injury prevention, management, and Return to Work initiatives.
  • - Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • - A proactive and empathetic approach to supporting people through recovery.
  • - Certificate IV in Personal Injury Management (Return to Work) is desirable.
  • - Return to Work Coordinator certification is desirable.
  • - Certificate IV in WHS/OHS is desirable (Diploma highly regarded).
